I already asked this on twitter (& got good recommendations :D) but let me ask here too :)

I'm looking for recommendations on fantasy books (& you can skip the LoTR, I know about that one :P) Suggestions?

I don't read a lot of fantasy, but my husband does. He really likes the Forgotten Realms series by RA Salvatore.

Robert Jordan's books... an amazing story ! And Robin Hobb's novels too of course!

the two authors provided above are pretty veteran fantasy writers. they've written tons of books!

you can try Brent Weeks too. His Night Angel trilogy(Released on 2008) sold very well in my ex-company last year. =)

seconding Brent Weeks - I just finished the Night Angel trilogy, and they are FANTASTIC. I found him much easier to read than Salvatore and Jordan, too :)

Also, Ursula Le Guin's Earthsea books. I was asking around work (I work in a bookstore) for fantasy recs, and the first books from EVERYONE's mouths were these.

Highly recommended : A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin =D

Llynn Flewelling - Nightrunner Series

The protagonists are two men...who become a couple later on. If you don't have a problem with this, give it a try! Great fantasy books!!

If we're talking about fantasy, then Terry Pratchett's books, of course XD
Also I'd recommend the Bartimaeus Trilogy (by Jonathan Stroud. It seems it's actually considered for children but I wouldn't say...)

I'm soo late, but here goes:
The Bartimaeous Trilogy by Jonathan Stroud.
Diana Wynne Jones books like the Dalemark Quartet and Hexwood, and of course, the Chronicles of Chrestomanci and all the books about Howl and Sophie, starting with Howl's Moving Castle
Inkheart, Inkspell and Inkdeath by Cornelia Funke, also The Thief Lord by Cornelia Funke
Susan Cooper's the Dark is Rising Sequence.
These are actually some of my favorite books. :)

Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett's Good Omens. Any of Terry Pratchett's Discworld series. Neil Gaiman's Stardust among many of his wonderful works. Robert Aspirin also does really hilarious punning and things in his works. I especially love the "Myth Adventures" and "Phule's Company" series. Patricia C. Wrede also has a really lovely young adult series, "The Enchanted Chronicles," that is princesses and dragons and kingdoms and just a really wonderful read. I could probably go on, but these are great. :)
